Understand how your business appears to the market

Destination Marketing Analysis (DMA)

See where your business may be losing visibility, customers, reservations, bookings or destination demand.

What it is

A read on your business from the outside in.

The DMA researches the public customer journey around your business, your destination and your competitive environment. It identifies visible strengths, weaknesses and opportunities, and organizes them into practical priorities.

01

Can customers find you?

Where you appear — and where you don't — when someone is choosing between you and the alternatives in your destination.

02

Does what they find convince them?

Whether your information, presentation and reputation give a stranger enough confidence to commit.

03

Can they act without friction?

Whether booking, reserving, enquiring or simply reaching you is straightforward from every place they might start.

What the analysis examines

18 categories. 160+ checks. All evidence-based.

The full analysis assesses 18 major online categories and more than 160 individual review points, each one tied to something publicly visible — so every finding is something you can go and check yourself. These are some of the areas we look at.

01

Discovery & search visibility

Whether people looking for a business like yours — locally, nationally and from abroad — find you at all.

02

Destination positioning

How well your business is connected to the attractions, events and demand already drawing visitors.

03

Listings & information consistency

Whether hours, location, contact details and offerings agree everywhere customers check.

04

Website & customer confidence

Whether your site answers the questions that decide a visit — and builds enough trust to act.

05

Booking, reservation & enquiry paths

How easily someone can reserve a table, book a room, request an event date or simply reach you.

06

Reputation & reviews

What prospective customers see, how current it is, and whether it is being managed.

07

Photography & presentation

Whether your visuals do justice to the space, the offering and the experience.

08

Social & customer engagement

Presence, consistency, and whether what's happening reaches people planning a visit.

09

Competitive positioning

How you compare with the alternatives a customer weighs you against in the same destination.

Why destination marketing

Your business isn't chosen in isolation.

A visitor decides where to go, then what to do once they arrive. The pull of the whole destination — its attractions, events and rhythm — shapes whether people ever consider you. Ordinary digital marketing looks only at the business. We look at the business inside its destination.

We factor in the whole picture:

Nearby attractions
Events & festivals
Seasonality
Visitor patterns
Transportation & access
Competing venues
Accommodations
Local experiences
Regional demand
National & international visitors

The result

Positioning that borrows the momentum of the destination around you — reaching visitors from local to international, not only the people who already know you exist.

The complete journey

We follow the whole decision, not one moment of it.

Discovery is only the beginning — we look for where confidence, clarity or momentum breaks down.

Questions

Common questions

What is a DMA?

DMA stands for Destination Marketing Analysis: a researched review of how your business appears to the market. We follow the public customer journey around your business, your destination and your competitive environment, and organise what we find into visible strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

Is this software I run myself?

No. The DMA is researched and written by our team. There is nothing for you to configure, install or operate — you tell us about the business, and we do the work.

What do I need to provide?

As much or as little as you have: your business name and location, your website, listings and social profiles, booking or reservation links, upcoming events, and anything about your customers, seasonality or current marketing concerns. We work with what's available.

What does it cost?

The DMA is free, with no obligation. Going deeper, the Complete Digital Report is a one-time $395 (Food Venues and Entertainment), and the Full Report and Consultation — the report plus one hour with our team — is $795. Advanced development and marketing are quoted separately.

Who is it for?

Visitor-facing and hospitality businesses: hotels, resorts, lodges and inns; restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs and nightlife; attractions, tours and recreation; wedding, banquet, event and conference venues; private clubs; and other destination-dependent businesses.

Am I obliged to act on the findings?

No. The DMA gives you a ranked picture of the opportunities and you decide what to pursue — and whether we're involved in any of it.
